Gents Host Hal Sutton Intercollegiate on Monday

SHREVEPORT – Monday and Tuesday will be the last tune-up before The Summit League Championships for the Centenary men’s golf team, as it hosts the Hal Sutton Intercollegiate at Stonebridge Golf Club in Bossier City.  

 

The Gents will welcome to town Brown, North Dakota State, Louisiana-Lafayette, Birmingham-Southern, Jackson State, Alabama State and Mobile. The eight schools will play 36 holes on Monday with 18 to follow on Tuesday.

 

Centenary is coming off a 15th place finish at the UALR/First Tee Collegiate and was led by Greg Berthelot, who finished tied for 57th. In the three-rounds, Berthelot shot a 241 and was 25 over par for the tournament.

 

Berthelot leads the Gents this season for the lowest round (66), rounds of par (4) and average score (76). The Baton Rouge, La., native was also named conference Golfer of the Week after winning the Pizza Hunt/Bell South Invitational with a two-round score of 141.

 

Following this week’s tournament Centenary will have two weeks off before the start of the conference tournament in Macomb, Ill.
