Gents Conclude Season at Final Summit League Cluster

MACOMB, Ill.—The Centenary men’s tennis team concluded its season with its second and final Summit League cluster of the year. The Gents lost by identical scores of 4-0 to both UMKC and Western Illinois.

 

Centenary (2-13, 0-6 Summit) first took on UMKC in the two-day event. Seva Kostelanetz split his first two sets with Nick Mader in the fifth slot, 6-3, 3-6, but the match was suspended when the Kangaroos claimed their match-clinching fourth point.

 

Jacob Dawson was also in a tough match, winning 7-6 before losing 6-2 in the second set in the sixth flight. He was trailing 3-2 in the third set before his match was suspended as well.

 

Against Western Illinois on its home court, the Gents did not fare any better. Mark Rodgman lost 6-1, 6-3 in the top spot and Oscar Medellin fell by the same score in the third flight. Alejandro Ahuja fell 6-0, 6-3 playing number two singles.

 

Doubles matches were not played against either UMKC or Western Illinois.
