Tuesday, May 20, 2008

SHREVEPORT—Centenary College held its annual graduation ceremony on Saturday, May 10, 2008, and honored 195 graduates in its 100th graduating class at the Shreveport-Bossier campus and its 183rd class overall. Among those recognized for their hard work and achievement were 43 current or former student-athletes.

Centenary student-athletes represented the Ladies and Gents athletic department well at the event, making up 22% of the total graduating class. Sixteen student-athletes, or 37% of all graduating student-athletes (listed below), graduated with honors, including six Summa Cum Laude (3.9 gpa or higher), five Magna Cum Laude (3.7 gpa or higher), and five Cum Laude (3.5 or higher).

In addition, three student-athletes were given Departmental Honors. Those awarded the distinction include Jennifer Bouso of cross country (Religious Studies), Ali Hilsher of women’s soccer (Political Science), and Jennifer Martin of softball (Business Economics).

Also, Centenary released its tally of students that qualified for the Dean’s List.
