Centenary Given Conference Sportsmanship Award

ELMHURST, Ill. – For the second time in as many years Centenary has been given The Summit League Sportsmanship Award. Centenary is only the second school in league history to receive the award twice, Southern Utah won the award five times. 


The Sportsmanship Award is given annually to the league institution that is judged by its peers to be the best in the league in living up to the ideals of sportsmanship. Areas for evaluation include student-athlete conduct, staff/administrator conduct, coaches’ conduct and event management. 


Past winners of The Summit League Sportsmanship Award include Centenary (2006-07), UMKC (1998-99), IUPUI (2000-01), Southern Utah (1999-00, 2002-03, 2003-04, 2004-05, 2005-06) and Valparaiso (2001-02).
