SHREVEPORT—The Louisiana Sports Writers Association (LSWA) selected Centenary golfers Greg Berthelot, Jessica Garza and Chloe Mims second team all-Louisiana, as voted on by the state’s sports information directors.

Berthelot, a freshman, missed only one tournament the entire 2007-08 season and led the Gents with 75.7 average. The Baton Rouge, native’s best afternoon was a 66 at the Pizza Hut/Bell South Invitational, where he also completed the tournament in first place with a two-round total of 141.

He was named The Summit League Male Golfer of the Week after his performance in that same tournament. Berthelot also led Centenary as its top finisher eight times, including placing in the top 10 three times.

Garza, who just completed her junior season, finished tied for fifth in the league with an average score of 79.3 and eighth in top rounds (73). The McKinney, Texas, native was also Centenary’s best finisher four times and placed in the top 10 twice.

Mims, meanwhile, was the Ladies’ leader six times as a senior, and she also had two top five finishes. The Texarkana, Texas, native was a runner-up at the Troy State Invitational in October and tied for fourth with Garza at the Centenary Ladies Invitational in February.

During the 2007-08 season, she also received two conference Female Golfer of the Week awards and was named second team all-league after finishing seventh in top averages (79.5).
