SHREVEPORT - After leading Centenary in every cross country race in 2008, freshman Brittany Wilkens has been named Louisiana Sports Writers Association (LSWA) Co-Freshman of the Year and first team all-LSWA.

SHREVEPORT - Adam Walton (28:00.2) led the Centenary men's cross country team with a 54th place finish, while Brittany Wilkens (23:52.5) topped the Ladies with a 52nd place finish. However, it wasn't enough as both of Centenary's cross country teams ended their season in 10th place at The Summit League Championship.

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Led by Brittany Wilkens and Adam Nerio, the Centenary cross country teams competed at the nationally regarded Chile Pepper Festival on Saturday morning. The Ladies finished the 6K run in 38th place, while the Gents closed out at the 10K race in 28th.

SHREVEPORT - At the annual Centenary Invitational, both the Ladies and Gents ran well on Saturday morning. Junior Adam Nerio (28.59) finished third and freshman Brittany Wilkens (26.25) had a fourth place showing, which was her fourth top five finish of the season.

ELMHURST, Ill. - After winning the Northwestern State Invitational Monday, on Tuesday freshman Brittany Wilkens captured The Summit League Female Runner of the Week award.

NATCHITOCHES, La. - Centenary freshman Brittany Wilkens claimed her first individual title, winning by more than 10 seconds at the Northwestern State Invitational on Monday. The first place finish vaulted the Ladies into second place in the team portion for the second straight week, while the Gents finished fourth overall.

MONROE, La. - The Centenary men's and women's cross country teams took part in the ULM Warhawk Invitational over the weekend. The Ladies Brittany Wilkens placed second overall and helped her team to a second place finish. Adam Nerio finished 30th individually as the Gents landed in sixth place as a team.

RUSTON, La. - The Centenary cross country teams kicked off their seasons by participating in the Louisiana Tech Mook 4 Invitational on Saturday morning just hours before the far-reaching rain and wind bands of Hurricane Ike arrived. Both teams defeated Louisiana College, while the women also handily bested the host Lady Techsters.

SHREVEPORT - The Centenary men's and women's cross country teams kick off their respective 2008 seasons together when they travel to Ruston, La., on Saturday for the Mook 4 Invitational hosted by Louisiana Tech. The men will start at 9 a.m. with the women beginning their race at 9:45 a.m. The four-mile course will be run at Lincoln Parish Park.
