SHREVEPORT - Rachel Conard (Merlin, Ore.), Callie Herrington (Hallettsville, Texas), Kelsey Regan (Shreveport) Jessica Sheldon (North Little Rock, #$%^Ark.) and Jackie Victoriano (Shreveport) who signed a National Letter of Intent with the Centenary softball team for the spring of 2010 all enjoyed a #$%^successful senior seasons.

NEW ORLEANS - Centenary softball freshman Lindsay Smith was named second team all-LSWA (Louisiana Sports Writers Association), while classmate Hillary Phillips and junior Haley Bassett captured honorable mention all-state honors, as voted on by the state's sports information directors and selected members of the media.

SHREVEPORT - For their outstanding efforts at The Summit League Championship, freshman Katie Matthews and sophomore Bonnie Matak were named to the all-tournament team after hitting a combined .300, knocking in a run and committing no errors in two games.

FARGO, N.D. - Sophomore Caitlin Cavarra gave the Centenary softball team all the momentum it needed in the first with a lead-off home run, which helped the Ladies cruise to an 8-4 Summit League victory over North Dakota State.

FARGO, N.D. - It was a tough day for the Centenary softball team, as the Ladies dropped both conference games to North Dakota State on Friday afternoon, by scores of 2-0 and 7-3.

SHREVEPORT - The Centenary softball team gave head coach Mark Montgomery an early birthday present with a doubleheader sweep of I-49 rival Northwestern State on Wednesday night. The Ladies took the first game 7-4 and the rain shortened nightcap 10-6.

SHREVEPORT - After rain washed out the contest on March 11 in Natchitoches, the Centenary and Northwestern State softball teams will now lock horns in a doubleheader on Wednesday beginning at 4:30 p.m. in Shreveport.

SHREVEPORT - Sophomore Bonnie Matak had three hits, while junior Haley Bassett also had a multi hit game, but the Centenary softball team fell to Southern Utah 1-0 in 11 innings on Saturday afternoon in Summit League play.

MACOMB, Ill. - The Centenary softball team's game with Western Illinois on Saturday afternoon was cancelled due to cold temperatures and the threat of rain and snow. The Ladies and Westernwinds will not make up the game, and Centenary will be back in action on Wednesday at Nicholls State.

SHREVEPORT - The Centenary softball team's offense scored seven runs, which includes sophomore Caitlin Cavarra and junior Haley Bassett each crossing the plate twice, but it was UMKC, who tallied four runs in the seventh to pull out a 9-7 win in Summit League play.

SHREVEPORT - A pair of dominating pitching performances by sophomore Jessica Bock and freshman Hillary Phillips got the Centenary softball team a doubleheader sweep of Summit League foe UMKC on Monday night. Ladies were winners in game one 1-0 and in the night cap they came away with a 3-0 victory.

SHREVEPORT - Centenary sophomore Bonnie Matak tripled with one out in the seventh, and then freshman Lindsey Smith did the rest when she drove home Matak with a deep sacrifice fly to center. The sac fly gave the Ladies a 6-5 win over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (11-22) on Thursday afternoon.

SHREVEPORT - Starting Tuesday the Centenary baseball and softball teams will combine to have a seven-day homestand. The Gents start the week long marathon off with a doubleheader against Texas College at 4 p.m., while the Ladies host Tulsa Wednesday at 5:30 p.m.

ELMHURST, Ill. - After tossing a no-hitter on Saturday afternoon against IPFW, Centenary sophomore Jessica Bock has been named Summit League #$%^Pitcher of the Week for the first time this season. As an already impressive feat to accomplish, Bock's no-hitter happened to occur on her 20th birthday.

SHREVEPORT - The rain has again altered Centenary's sports schedule for Friday, as the softball team will now play a doubleheader with IPFW on Saturday starting at 2:30 p.m. The original single game planned for Saturday is now cancelled with no make-up date.

ELMHURST, Ill. - After tossing a no-hitter against Bryant and allowing just three runs the entire weekend, Centenary freshman Hillary Phillips was named The Summit League Pitcher of the Week.

SHREVEPORT - Centenary pitchers Jessica Bock and Hillary Phillips looked like a dominate one-two punch on Saturday afternoon, as Bock allowed three hits and no runs against Missouri State, while Phillips tossed a no-hitter against Bryant. The Ladies were winners over MSU 6-1 in game one and shutout BU 4-0 in game two.

SHREVEPORT - Three hits and four RBIs by Centenary freshman Lindsey Smith helped carry the offense, while 16 combined strike outs by freshman Hillary Phillips and sophomore Jessica Bock put a strangle on SIU Edwardsville and Boston College Friday afternoon. The Ladies were victorious over the Cougars 4-2, but it took nine innings to defeat the Eagles 8-6.

SHREVEPORT - Starting on Thursday, Centenary will host an event for four straight days beginning with women's golf against Toledo on Thursday. The tennis teams will host Grambling, Houston and Southeastern Louisiana, while Gymnastics welcomes the Air Force Academy to the Gold Dome. Starting on Friday morning the Ladies softball team will kick off their season in a six team tournament, which will conclude Sunday afternoon.

SHREVEPORT - After returning from Thanksgiving break, the Centenary Ladies softball team found time to once again give back to the community of Shreveport for its third service project in less than a month when they visited the Northwest Louisiana Food Bank on Wednesday evening.

BOSSIER CITY, La. - The Centenary softball team continued its Fall success over the weekend by winning two out of three games in the Bossier Parish Community College Fall Tournament. The Ladies are now 5-1 after defeating Louisiana-Monroe and Lon Morris College, while collecting 22 hits and 14 runs.

BOSSIER CITY, La. - The Centenary softball team kicked off its 2008 fall tournament schedule with a pair of wins at the Bossier Parish Community College (BPCC) Tournament. The Ladies discarded the host Cavaliers 4-1 in their first game before dismissing Northwestern State 6-1 in the second game of the doubleheader.

SHREVEPORT - Centenary softball coach Mark Montgomery has joined forces with coaches Kevin Blaskowski of West Texas A&M and Mike Reed of UT-Tyler to offer a one-of-a-kind recruiting seminar for regional softball players on Oct. 14th. The seminar will be held at the Airline High School Auditorium at 2801 Airline Drive in Bossier City (zip: 71111) from 5:45 p.m. to 8:45 p.m. with the cost of admission being $20 per recruit/family.

SHREVEPORT - Centenary assistant softball coach Lyndsey Angus has been named first team All-NPF by the National Pro Fastpitch League. The league selected 18 players for the honor, four pitchers, eight position players and six at-large selections. Angus was chosen as the first baseman on the All-NPF squad.

As always, the lineup features very strong non-conference tilts, including seven teams that participated in the NCAA Tournament in 2008, and several other strong programs in addition to area rivalries.

She spends almost nine months of the year assisting Head Coach Mark Montgomery in all facets of the Ladies softball program, but then, just as the school year ends and the temperature begins to rise, Angus slips off to her second job as the starting first baseman for the New England Riptide of the National Pro Fastpitch softball league (NPF).

SHREVEPORT - Centenary softball coach Mark Montgomery has announced the signing of pitchers Jessica Bock and Hillary Phillips. The duo will join Montgomery's six other signees (Monica Acuna, Phyllis Hafer, Vicki Honeycutt, Katie Matthews, Lindsey Smith, and Jenny Varteressian) on the 2008-09 roster. The newcomers will solidify a Ladies team that has been to The Summit League Tournament five consecutive years, one for each year Centenary has been in the conference.
