Ladies Cut Strokes, Place 13th at Claud Jacobs Intercollegiate

VICTORIA, Tex.—In the final round of the Claud Jacobs Intercollegiate, the Centenary women’s golf team (327-332-324, 983) cut eight strokes off its second round score to finish in 13th place, 63 shots behind tournament champion and host, Texas State University (308-310-302, 920).

Leading the way for the Ladies was junior Jessica Marquart (80-83-79), who finished tied for 37th with a three-round score of 242. The Huntsville, Texas native was 20 strokes behind Cassie Huffer  (73-76-73) of Arkansas State, who led the way with a 222.

Senior Jessica Garza (79-83-81) tied for 41st after she shot a 243, while senior Tracy Williams (80-82-84) completed three rounds finishing in 52nd place with a 246. Rounding out Centenary’s five golfers were seniors Leigh Newton (88-84-80, 252) and Bethany Cox (89-89-88, 266) who placed 62nd and 70th respectively.

The Ladies will be back in action this Friday when they face Louisiana-Monroe in an all day event held at East Ridge Country Club.
