Bock Named Pitcher of the Week
Monday, March 16, 2009

ELMHURST, Ill. – After tossing a no-hitter on Saturday afternoon against IPFW, Centenary sophomore Jessica Bock has been named Summit League Pitcher of the Week for the first time this season. As an already impressive feat to accomplish, Bock's no-hitter happened to occur on her 20th birthday.

The sophomore right-hander had two appearances over the weekend in which she fanned six batters in 10.0 innings of work, while only allowing one earned run.  Bock hurled Centenary’s second no-hitter of the season as she went the distance in an 8-0 win over the Mastodons on Saturday. On the season, Bock has a 10-5 record and a 2.55 ERA.

“After some early season struggles Jessica has really come on and pitched well and we are proud of her,” said head coach Mark Montgomery.

Centenary will host Tulsa on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. and the game will be broadcast on www.GoCentenary.com. The pregame show will start five minutes prior to first pitch with play-by-play man Roy Lang III.
