ELMHURST, Ill. – For the first time this season, Centenary junior first basemen Tell Ross received The Summit League Hitter of the Week award after helping the Gents to a 5-1 record last week.

For the week, Ross had 13 hits, 13 RBIs, 10 runs, two doubles, two walks and a home run. The junior had a season-high five RBIs against Texas College, recorded four multi-hit games and leads Centenary with a .462 season average.

“The way Tell swung the bat last week helps me know that we are capable of putting up good offensive number this year,” said head coach Ed McCann. “He has been solid for us all season at first base and he goes to the plate and handles his business.”

Centenary will play at Northwestern State on Tuesday if the weather cooperates, and then will return home for a four-game series with Arkansas-Pine Bluff beginning on Friday at 6 p.m.
