Tough Day for Gents Tennis

TULSA, Ok—The Centenary men’s tennis team continued to struggle in conference play as they fell 4-0 to both Western Illinois and ORU on Friday.


The Gents opened up the day against WIU. Jules Bourgon played a close match but was defeated by WIU’s Zach Frisch in straight 6-4 games. Jacob Dawson was able to grab 4 sets as he fell 6-2 and 6-2, while Seva Kostelanetz fell 6-1 and 6-1, and John Reeks was defeated 6-0 and 6-2.


Friday afternoon the Gents faced ORU. Dawson was able to steal two from ORU’s Alex Dargel as he was beat 6-1 and 6-1, while Bourgon fell 6-1 and 6-0 and both Kostelanetz and Reeks were defeated 6-0 and 6-1.


The Gents will return to action Saturday as they continue conference play in Tulsa against South Dakota State at 9 am.
