GRAMBLING, La. – Junior Tell Ross was 2-for-5 with a grand slam and his classmate Travis Leversen had a 4-for-4 evening to help lift the Centenary baseball team to a 12-5 victory over Grambling State on Tuesday.

GSU grabbed an early 4-2 lead, but the Gents answered back with five runs between the third and fourth innings. Knocking in two of Centenary’s runs was senior Tim Deering, who singled in both RBIs in the third.

In the Gents’ five run sixth inning, senior Ricky Imperiali picked up an RBI before Ross smacked his grand slam over the left field fence.

Freshman Seth Lugo earned his third victory of the season, as he pitched five innings, allowed four runs on eight hits, while striking out five. Senior Joe Hagen got the long save, pitching four innings and allowing just one unearned run to go along with three strike outs.

The Gents will be back in action this weekend when they host Summit League rival South Dakota State beginning on Friday at 6 p.m. Sophomore Justin Kraft is expected to take the hill in game one for Centenary.
