SHREVEPORT – The Centenary baseball team this week is receiving votes from the USA Today/ESPN Coaches poll. The Gents picked up 13 points, which is based on 32 coaches from across the country.

“This is great for us right now and the future of the program,” said head coach Ed McCann. “I don’t like counting my chickens, but if we pick up a few more wins we can make the NCAA Tournament as an at-large team.”

Centenary will host Grambling on Tuesday before traveling to Tulsa on Friday for a four game series against Oral Roberts. The Gents are currently just a half game behind the Golden Eagles for first place in The Summit League.
