Gwitt Signs First for 2009

SHREVEPORT – The Centenary volleyball team and head coach Dan Gwitt have announced the signing of Christina Fellows of Oakton, Va., to a National Letter of Intent.

 

Fellows helped lead Flint Hills High School to three state tournament appearances, which includes capturing the crown in 2008. As the team’s setter she led the squad with 824 assists, while tallying 180 digs, 61 aces and 90 kills.

 

The Oakton, Va., native was named first-team all-conference after her junior and senior seasons, while earning first team all-state, Virginia State Tournament MVP, Virginia State Player of the Year, Washington Post First-Team All-Metro and a recognition by www.prepvolleyball.com as one of the top 60 high school setters in the nation and she was also selected High School All-America honorable mention as a senior.

 

“I have very high expectations for Christie and what she can do for this program,” said Gwitt.  “She is a very well rounded young adult and I expect her to take our program to the next level.  Christie is versatile and will give us depth and leadership at the most important position on the floor.”
