Six Gents Named All-Conference

ELMHURST, Ill. – Six members of the Centenary baseball team were named all-conference by The Summit League coaches on Wednesday afternoon. Leading the pack for Centenary was senior Chris LaLonde, who took home first team honors.

The Sammamish, Wash., native was a perfect 4-0 in 16 appearances, while pitching in 28.1 innings. LaLonde was second on the team in opponent’s batting average as he allowed foes to hit just .273.

Taking home second team honors was junior Travis Leversen, who batted .389, while swiping a league leading 18 bases. Classmate Michael Tompkins, who started and played in all 50 games as designated hitter was also named second team after he hit a team-high eight home runs.

Also earning second team all-league was junior Tell Ross, who despite missing the last three games because of injury still hit seven home runs and led the Gents with 49 RBIs. Senior shortstop Ricky Imperiali captured second team honors after he was near the top of the conference in doubles (19).

Rounding out Centenary’s postseason honors is sophomore Justin Kraft, who topped the Gents in wins (6) and ERA (3.68), but was named second team.
