SHREVEPORT – The Centenary men’s basketball team and head coach Greg Gary have announced the signing of 6-3 swingman Mantas Drungys to a National Letter of Intent on Tuesday.

Drungys a native of Lithuania, spent the last year at The Master’s School in West Simsbury, Conn., where he averaged 16 points and eight rebounds per game to capture team MVP honors.

Before playing in the northeast, Drungys saw action in London, England, at the Abbey School where he scored 22 points and pulled down 10 rebounds per contest. In his native homeland, Drungys played for the prestigious Lithuanian Junior National Team.

“I am extremely excited to have Mantas join our team,” said Gary. “He is a tough, physical wing, who is very skilled. He’s also a mature, intelligent person both on and off the court. He will be a great addition to Centenary both in the class room and in the Gold Dome.”

Drungys, who chose Centenary over Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Utah State and Hawaii said, “The education appealed to me, along with the coaches, who spent a lot of time explaining just how well they felt I would fit in with their program.”
