STARKVILLE, Miss.—The Centenary volleyball team will take part in its final non-conference tournament this weekend when it travels to Starkville, Miss., for the MSU Club Bulldog Invitational hosted by Mississippi State. The Ladies will lock up against Mississippi State and Memphis at 12:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. on Friday before finishing up the weekend with a match against Central Arkansas on Saturday at 11 a.m.

Centenary (2-6) is coming off of a third place finish at the UCA Classic last weekend after a 2-2 effort. The Ladies discarded Jackson State and Mississippi Valley State, but fell to Central Arkansas and Houston Baptist.

Senior Ashlee Freeman and sophomore Bethany Kern have shined through the first two tournaments, each garnering spots on their respective All-Tournament Teams. Freeman leads the Ladies in total blocks with 20 on the young season, while Kern is tops on the squad with 116 digs. Her 4.46 digs per game average places her in the top five in The Summit League, while freshman Kinsey Mims is currently leading the league in service aces with 11.

Mississippi State is 4-4 on the year with losses to fellow Louisiana schools Nicholls State and McNeese State. The Bulldogs are coming off of a recent win at Jackson State.

Memphis carries a 4-3 mark into the weekend after losing to Troy last time out. The Tigers also have losses to Arkansas-Little Rock and Summit League member IUPUI.

Central Arkansas is 4-2 overall after winning all three games and taking first place in their own UCA Classic last weekend. The Sugar Bears and the Ladies have already met once this season with UCA taking that match in three sets.
