Ladies and Gents Begin Season with a Bang

SHREVEPORT – The Centenary men’s and women’s swimming team’s season got started on Saturday with an intrasquad meet. 15 members of the Ladies and Gents etched their names into the Centenary record book with their outstanding times.

 

Lauren Kloepfer, Leslie Wyatt, Aimee Spooner and Leslie Clampitt moved into fourth all-time in the 200 yard medley relay with a time of 1:53.89. Lauren Lassiter (28.67) is now first all-time at Centenary in the 50 yard backstroke, while Kelley Hannah (30.15) is sixth.

 

Brittany Wilkens ranks fifth in the 100 yard breaststroke (1:11.27), while Madeline Wyatt (1:03.15), Lauren Lassiter (1:01.36) and Lexi Crovetto (1:04.45) are now sixth, second and 10th respectively in the 100 yard backstroke.

 

Hannah also ranks sixth all-time in the 50 yard freestyle (25.80) and the final three Ladies to set school marks were Cassandra Cloutet (1:00.03) and Aimee Spooner (1:00.07) in the 100 yard butterfly, while Wyatt (2:14.62) also put her name into the list in the 200 yard IM.

 

For the Gents three individuals set marks, while the relay team of Alex Opland, John Cefalu, Wladimir Montoya and Caleb McSorley are now third all-time in the 200 yard medley relay with a time of 1:36.94.

 

The three individuals, who put their names in the record book, were Aaron Otto (25.47) and Anthony LeBlanc (27:00), who rank in the top 10 in the 50 yard backstroke, while Caleb McSorley (22.13) is ninth all-time in the 50 yard freestyle.

 

The regular season will begin on Saturday, Oct. 4, against Delta State at the Centenary Recreation Center.
