FARGO, N.D. – It was a difficult day for the Centenary women’s soccer team on rainy Sunday afternoon, as it fell to North Dakota State, 7-0, in Summit League action.

Freshmen Katie Valdez and Ashley Dolezel each had two shots for the Ladies, but neither could hit paydirt. Both of Valdez’s shots were saved by Bison goal keeper Kalani Bertsch, who had six stops on the day.

For NDSU, it scored three goals in the first half, while finding the back of the net four times in the second period. Freshman keeper Deb Hill and junior Kate Donnelly combined to make eight saves in split time between the posts

“We opened the game today on mission, we had good looks early but we just couldn’t capitalize,” said head coach Chase Wooten. “At halftime we made some adjustments and I thought we might be able to score right away, but we just couldn’t put anything together.”

Centenary will be back to the comforts of Mayo Field on Friday for a conference match against Oral Roberts starting at 5 p.m.
