Bay St. Louis, Miss.—The Centenary (339-330, 669) women’s golf team couldn’t find momentum entering the final round of the LDR Investments Lady Colonel Intercollegiate hosted by Nicholls State on Tuesday, as the Ladies finished 10th with a team score of 669 over two rounds.

Junior Jessica Marquart (79-84) led the field for the Ladies tied for 37th with a 36-hole score of 163. Behind her was senior Jessica Garza, (87-77, 164) who tied for 39th after cutting ten strokes off her first round score to finish one shy of Marquart.

Behind Marquart and Garza was senior Bethany Cox, (83-83, 166) as she tied for 44th, senior Tracy Williams (90-86, 176) was in 54th and senior Leigh Newton (91-86, 177) finished in 55th.

The Ladies finished 72 strokes behind tournament winner McNeese State (302-295, 597) who came away with two of the top three individual finishes. McNeese State’s Maggie Welch and Lacy McKinley along with Samford University’s Sara Hunt each tied with a two-round total of 146, just two over par for the tournament. In the end, McKinley of McNeese captured first making birdie in a two-hole playoff.

This tournament concludes the fall season for the Ladies, as they will be back in action on the course in February hosting the annual Centenary Ladies Spring Invitational.
