ELMHURST, Ill. – For the second time in her short collegiate career, freshman Madeline Wyatt has been chosen as The Summit League Female Swimmer of the Week, after posting four first place finishes at the Hendrix Classic and Relays on Friday and Saturday. This is also the third time in a month a member of the Ladies swimming team has been given the conference’s weekly honor.

The freshman from Austin, Texas, recorded her fastest 1,000-yard freestyle of the season with a time of 10:33.29 and her time of 2:10.11 in the 200-yard backstroke ranks in the top ten in the league.

Wyatt broke the Centenary team record in the 100-yard backstroke with her impressive mark of 59.74 as the lead off leg in the 300-yard backstroke relay. She also helped the Ladies record a first-place finish in the 400 free relay with a time of 3:37.77, which is good for second in the league.

“We are proud of Madeline and the wonderful things she has done in the pool this early in her career,” said head coach Butch Jordan. “We think that she will continue to improve as her career moves along and it will be pretty exciting to watch.”

Both of the swim teams will be back in action at the Trinity Invitational in Southlake, Texas, on Friday, Nov. 21 and Saturday, Nov. 22.
