Last Nonconference Game For Ladies
Monday, January 5, 2009

STILLWATER, Okla. – The No. 23 ranked Oklahoma State Cowgirls will welcome the Centenary women’s basketball team to town for the Tuesday evening showdown in the Gallagher-Iba Arena.

The Ladies will go into the game looking bounce back after a poor shooting afternoon against ORU. Centenary shot 26 percent from the field against the Golden Eagles, connecting on only 12-of-45.

Despite scoring just three points against ORU, sophomore Anne Farrell continues to top the Ladies’ offense with 9.4 points per game. Senior Karolina Zaloga, who leads Centenary in assists with 48, will also look to have a bounce back performance.

This is the first time Centenary and Oklahoma State will meet. It has been a few years since the Ladies have played a Big XII opponent. Centenary played Texas A&M and Texas back in 2000, with the Aggies winning 94-49 and the Longhorns topping the Ladies by a score of 135-37.

The Cowgirls this season are led by All-American Andrea Riley, who is scoring 20.8 points per game, while averaging 7.3 assists a contest. OSU is also led by Shaunte Smith and Tegan Cunningham, who each score 12.5 a game.

At home the Cowgirls are 8-0 and have won seven straight games after starting the season at 3-2. The only two losses for OSU this season has been against Duke and Arkansas-Little Rock.

Tuesday’s game time has been moved to 5:30 p.m. and the pregame show will start at 5:15 p.m. on and 91.3 KSCL. Centenary will return home on Saturday when it hosts IPFW at 12 p.m.
