Thursday, February 5, 2009

SHREVEPORT – Senior Jessica Garza (38-39) shot an afternoon low of 77, but the winter rust couldn’t be shaken from the Centenary women’s golf team, as it fell to Toledo 316-324 on Thursday afternoon at Olde Oaks.

Senior Leigh Newton (41-41, 82) finished in sixth place with teammate Bethany Cox (44-38, 82), while Tracy Williams (42-41, 83) and Jessica Marquart (40-44, 84) rounded out the Ladies afternoon finishing in eighth and 10th respectively.

Toledo, meanwhile, had four golfers finish in the top four led by Boram Lee (38-40) and Michelle Hui (39-39), who each shot a 78.

This weekend the Ladies will be in Lake Charles for the McNeese State Invitational starting on Saturday morning.
