Gents Lacrosse Drop Heartbreaker to Tulane
Sunday, February 8, 2009

Shreveport - Senior captian attacker Adam Mastrodomenico tallied a whopping 5 goals in a 10-9 hard fought loss to the Green Wave of Tulane University.

In the second day of back-to-back games, the Gents started out very slow to find themselves down 4-1 after the first quarter.  With a little bit of regrouping the Gents battled back to win the 2nd quarter 5-1 for 6-5 halftime lead.

The Gents clearing effort was much improved from Saturday and sophomore goalie Daniel Ewing made precision outlet passes to his breaking midfielders to help setup the Gents offense.  Defensive midfielders Adam Nerio  Jordan Gurren andMatthew Bumgardner , all playing in their 2nd ever game in two days also showed great improvement on defense and in the clearing game.

Offensively the Gents relied on a patient offense to help the scoring cause.  Offensive midfielders, Rob Grand and Michael Hiller played like gladiators complemeting the scoring of Mastrodomenico.  Both middies had 2 goals and an assist in the losing effort.

The Gents will be in action next on February 21st as they travel to Nacogdoches Texas to take on the Lumberjacks of Stephen F. Austin University.
