MONROE, La. – Junior Haley Bassett and freshman Lindsey Smith each drove in three runs for the Centenary softball team, as the Ladies handed Southeast Missouri a 10-2 five inning loss on Sunday morning at the Louisiana-Monroe Mardi Gras Tournament.

Centenary (6-2) got things started with a five spot in the first, as Smith came up with a two-run shot to right. Bassett and freshman Katie Matthews, meanwhile, also got in on the action with an RBI apiece.

It was Bassett’s turn again in the second when she plated two more runs with a single to right, while Emerald Doria, Smith and Allison McClain each collected an RBI to put the Ladies up 10-0.

Sophomore Jessica Bock threw all five innings and won her fourth game of the year after scattering just six hits and four walks, while adding four strike outs.
