Ladies Basketball Welcomes Four to 2009-10 Squad

SHREVEPORT-The Centenary women's basketball team and Head Coach Bojan Jankovic have recently announced the signing of four new players to the Ladies' roster for the 2009-10 season.

Centenary will welcome freshmen Stephanie Barrow (South Beauregard, La./South Beauregard HS), Donecia Cook(Shreveport, La./Evangel Christian Academy), Vashni Sharp (Shreveport, La./Evangel Christian Academy) and Jalena Sanders (Ruston, La./Ruston HS) to the team.

Stephanie Barrow
Position: Guard
Height: 5'6"
Hometown: South Beauregard, La.
Previous School: South Beauregard HS

Quote from Head Coach Bojan Jankovic: "Stephanie is an aggressive, hard working player that will help us out at the guard spot. She will be a great and aggressive defender that can shoot the ball well. She is a good mid-range shooter that can drive strong to the basket."

Donecia Cook
Position: Guard
Height: 5'5"
Hometown: Shreveport, La.
Previous School: Evangel Christian Academy

Vashni Sharp
Position: Guard
Height: 5'5"

Previous School: Evangel Christian Academy

Jalena Sanders
Position: Forward
Height: 6'0"
Hometown: Ruston, La.
Previous School: Ruston HS

All four Louisiana Ladies will join a thriving Centenary team, who is under new direction as Jankovic enters his first year as head coach for the program. The Ladies will return 10 from last season, including seniors Leslie Forest, Bethany Joseph, Natasa Draganic, and Michaela Berg. They will also welcome back juniors Anne Farrell and Ashley Jackson, who led the Centenary squad in scoring with 8.7 and 8.4 points per game, respectively.

Centenary will open the 2009-10 season at Louisiana Tech on November 13.
