SHREVEPORT-In the second and final exhibition game of the preseason, the Centenary men's soccer took a 1-0 win over University of Texas at Tyler on Thursday night at Mayo Field.

The Gents broke the game open when sophomore Brian Hulburt found the back of the net off of a double assist from sophomores Aaron Bergman and Marcos Rodriguez to make it a 1-0 game at the 6:43 mark.

The second half was silenced as one goal proved to be all either team needed to secure a win.

Centenary totaled six shots, led by Hurlburt with two. The Patriots attempted 13 shots, nine of which came in the final 45 minutes of play.

Goalkeepers junior Rennie Walker played the first half and garnered two saves. Senior keeper Cole Campbell had one save and freshman Robbie Ramirez had two as they split time in the second half.

The Gents will open their regular season on Tuesday in a 7:00 p.m. start against William Carey at Mayo Field.
