Ladies Soccer Takes 7-0 Win Over Letourneau

SHREVEPORT-The Centenary women's soccer team took a 7-0 win over Letourneau on Friday evening at Mayo Field.

This game was the first for the Ladies this season as Centenary scored five times in the first half and put up two more goals in the final 45 minutes of play.

Head Coach Chase Wooten and team came out strong, as freshman Courtney Morris found the back of the net on an assist by sophomore Ashley Dolezel at the 13:21 mark. Less than one minute later, sophomore Chelsea Granger netted her first of two goals on the game, with an assist from Morris at 14:16.

The Ladies stayed in control for the entire first half as freshman Allison Rucinski scored her first collegiate goal on a shot six yards out from Dolezel. At 31:21, freshman Morgan Ulliman netted goal off a corner kick by classmate Holden Penney to put the Ladies up 4-0.

Six minutes later, Ulliman scored her second goal of the evening that found the right side of the net to end the first half with a 5-0 lead.

It didn't take long into the final 45 minutes for the Ladies to increase their lead as Granger scored. Centenary added one more at the 75:23 mark when junior Kortney Causey netted goal off a corner kick by Rucinski.

Senior goalkeeper Kate Donnelly played the entire first half, garnering one save, while sophomore Deb Hill played the second half.

Centenary put up a total of 31 shots, led by Ulliman with five to Letourneau's one on the game.

The Ladies will be back in action on Sunday at Arkansas-Little Rock at 1 p.m.
