Gents Finish in a Tie for Eighth at ORU Shootout

BROKEN ARROW, Okla.-The Centenary men's golf team (321-315-316, 952) completed the Bob Hurley Auto ORU Shootout on Tuesday in a tie for eighth place.

In the third and final round, the Gents posted a team score of 316, just one shot over their round two total. Centenary finished 50 shots behind leader, Texas State (311-294-297, 902).

Sophomore Denver Green (88-78-73) posted the best round of the tournament for the Gents with a 73 in the final 18 holes to finish tied for 31st. Junior Greg Berthelot (87-76-77) tied for 34th, just one stroke behind teammate Green.

Rounding out the scores for Centenary were junior Cannon Earp (79-81-84, 244), tying for 41st, while seniors Mark Weeber (77-80-84, 245) and Nick Faitz (78-86-82) finished in a tie for 44th and 46th respectively.

Behind Texas State was Missouri State (308-299-305, 912) in second, rostering individual leader, Jay McBride (75-73-67, 215). Rounding out the top three was Sam Houston (314-302-304, 920).

The Gents will be back in action on October 18-20 at the North Alabama Tournament.
