Ladies Golf Finishes 13th at ORU Shootout

TULSA, Okla.-The Centenary women's golf team fired a combined score of 1038 over three rounds to finish 13th at the ORU Shootout hosted by Bob Hurley Auto.

The Ladies (355-339-344, 1038) were led by senior Jessica Marquart (83-83-87, 253), who finished in a tie for 57th. Freshman Kyndal Rose (90-82-86, 258) placed 62nd, just five shots behind Marquart.

Freshman Claire Whitis (91-87-83, 261) cut eights strokes off her opening round score to finish in a tie for 65th with a team-low 83 in the final round. Classmates Justine Kemp (91-87-88, 266) and Rachel Grinnell (91-89-92, 272) placed 70th and 72nd respectively for Centenary.

Oral Roberts (312-308-315, 935) finished in first placed with a 103 stroke lead over the Ladies. Behind the Golden Eagles by one shot in second was UT-El Paso (310-316-310, 936) and in third was Louisina-Monroe (313-3-309-316, 938).

Individually, Angela Drane (76-70-78, 224) captured the title, despite gaining eight strokes in her final round from here second round score.

The Ladies will play again at the Sam Houston State Invitational beginning Monday, Oct. 12.
