Summit League Contests Make Up Busy Home Weekend

SHREVEPORT-Summit League play for both the volleyball and men's soccer team will take place this weekend. The Ladies will host Southern Utah in a 7:00 pm match on Friday, followed by a 3:00 pm start against UMKC on Sunday. The Gents will play host to Oral Roberts at 7:00 pm on Saturday.

The Centenary volleyball team enters the weekend with a 3-14 overall record and a 0-7 league record. As a team, the Ladies execute 7.5 kills per set and 10.4 digs per set.

Sophomore Jennifer Kunze leads the squad with 132 total kills, while classmate Jaclyn Lopez controls the offensive tempo with 396 sets and 25 service aces on the season. Junior Bethany Kern, defensively, has a team-best 224 digs.

The Gents are coming off a 3-1 victory over Houston Baptist on Wednesday. The Centenary squad holds a 3-7-1 overall record and a 1-1 stint in league play.

Senior Todd Faulkinberry leads the team with three season goals and six points, while sophomore Tate McIntyre has tallied two goals and two assists for six points. Classmate John McHugh has a team-high four assists.

Junior goal keeper Rennie Walker has made 56 saves for a .789 save percentage for the Gents this season. As a team, Centenary averages 10.3 shots and 1.0 goal per game.
