TULSA, Okla.-The Centenary women's soccer team couldn't overcome a strong defensive Oral Roberts team as it dropped a 2-0 contest on Saturday evening in Summit League play.

The Ladies fell to 8-3 on the season and 0-2 in conference as they were held to just three shots on the match.

It remained a 0-0 match until Oral Roberts' Tara Lomas struck first at 40:54 on an assist by Lexie Salas that reached the back of the net past sophomore keeper Deb Hill.

A first half goal sent the Golden Eagles into the final 45 minutes of play with a 1-0 advantage. They were able to extend the lead at the 52-minute mark on a goal by Lorena Soto from Lauren Parks, going up 2-0.

Two goals proved to be all Oral Roberts needed to send the Ladies home with only its third loss of the season.

As a team, Centenary fired off three shots, none of which were on goal, while Oral Roberts had 10 shots with five on goal.

Freshman Holden Penney had two of the Ladies' shots and sophomore Katie Valdez had the other Centenary attempt. Hill played 61:52 in goal, tallying three saves before being replaced for the final 28 minutes by senior keeper Kate Donnelly, who didn't record a save.

The Ladies will be back in action against Oakland on Friday at 4:00 pm ET.
