Ladies in Seventh After Opening Round

HUNTSVILLE, Texas-After the opening round of play in the Elkins Lake Fall Women's Golf Classic, the Centenary women's golf team is in seventh place with a score of 338.

The Ladies are 53 strokes out of lead as Central Arkansas paces the group with a 285. In second is Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (298), while host-Sam Houston State is in third (302).

Senior Jessica Marquart is tied for 22nd after 18 holes, shooting an 80 to pace Centenary. Freshman Kyndal Rose is just one stroke behind Marquart with an 81 in a tie for 24th overall.

Rounding out the scores for the Ladies are freshmen Claire Whitis (86) in a tie for 29th, Justine Kemp (91) tied for 35th, and Rachel Grinnel (92) in 38th.

The second round was scheduled to have been completed on Day 1, but due to rain, the round will be finished on Tuesday morning at 8:30 a.m. prior to the start of the third and final round.
