SHREVEPORT-The Centenary cross country teams will compete at The Summit League Cross Country Championship on Saturday in Cedar City, Utah.

The Ladies and Gents will be challenged on Cedar Ridge Golf Course as the men run an 8K race and the women run a 6K. The Championships will begin at 10:00 a.m. with the men's race, followed by the starting of the women's race at 11:00 a.m.

Leading the way all season for Centenary has been seniors Cara Miccoli and Adam Nerio. Miccoli's best finish came at the NSU Invitational as she completed the 5K race in 23:36.43 for a top three finish. Nerio captured third place at the Centenary Invitational with a time of 27:12.24 in the 8K home race.

The Centenary squads raced in five events this season as the Ladies placed in the top three in two races. The Gents garnered third place for their best finish of the year at the NSU Invitational.

Southern Utah will host this year's championship as the Thunderbird men and South Dakota State women are out to defend their 2008 titles.

"The teams have been preparing all season for this specific meet.  The competition in the Summit League is tough, but if each runner focuses on running his/her best race of the season (which I fully expect them to do), then as a team we will be successful," said head coach Shelley Armstrong.
