Ladies Golf in Eighth After Two Rounds

LAKE CHARLES, La.-The Centenary women's golf team finished the opening day of the Cowgirl Fall Invitational hosted by McNeese State in eighth place with a two-round score of 703.

The Ladies fired a 346 in round one, but added 11 strokes for a 357 in round two to trail by 94 shots.

Senior Jessica Marquart (87-86, 173) finished the day tied for 36th as Centenary's top performer. Trailing by one stroke is freshman Kyndal Rose (83-91, 174) in 39th place.

Freshmen Claire Whitis (87-90, 177), Rachel Grinnell (89-90, 179), and Lauren Raynes (102-94, 196) rounded out the rest of the Ladies in 40th, 42nd, and 45th respectively.

Playing as an individual was freshman Justine Kemp (90-88, 178) who trimmed two shots off her opening round to sit in 41st heading into the second day of play.

Currently, Central Arkansas (306-303, 609) is pacing the pack, while Lamar (314-304, 618) trails by nine strokes in second and McNeese (312-312, 624) is in third.

The Ladies will finish play on Tuesday beginning at 8:00 am shot gun start at Lake Charles Country Club.
