Ladies Take on #9 LSU on Sunday

After facing in-state Louisiana Tech, the Centenary women's basketball team will take on #9 LSU on Sunday at 2:00 pm in Baton Rouge.

Ladies Last Time Out
The Ladies took on I-20 rival Louisiana Tech in their home opener on Friday. Falling 88-41, Centenary shot 26 percent from the floor and knocked down 8-of-10 from the line. Returning leading scorers Anne Farrell (12 pts/12 rbs) and Ashley Jackson (14 pts/6 rbs) led the way.

Farrell Notches Season Opening Double Double
Farrell notched a double-double of 12 points and 12 rebounds in the opening game of the season. That marked her seventh career double-double game and 29th game to score in double figures in a Ladies uniform.

Jankovic's First Go Around
Bojan Jankovic faced a competitive La Tech team in his first game as the head coach of the Ladies basketball program on Friday. 12 of the 14 Ladies saw action in the game as Centenary.

Jackson Paces Ladies Offensively
Jackson poured in 14 points to lead the Ladies offensively in the season opener. The Shreveport native, has now scored in double figures 22 times in her career at Centenary.

Newcomers See Action
All four freshmen saw action in the opening game against Louisiana Tech. Of the four, Vashni Sharp Moore connected on 2-of-2 from the charity stripe for two points.

Scouting LSU
LSU is coming into the game on Sunday, ranked #9 in the country in the preseason polls. The contest will be the season opener for the Lady Tigers after playing one exhibition game against Loyola (NO) on Nov. 10. National Player of the Year Candidate, Allison Hightower led LSU with 18 points. They will start five returners.

Series vs. LSU
Centenary and LSU have faced each other three times in the past, dating back to 1982-83. The Lady Tigers hold a 3-0 all-time series lead having won the last meeting just last season, 74-31 in the Gold Dome.
