CENTENARY at GRAMBLING - TUESDAY, NOV. 17
GRAMBLING, LA. - 7:30 PM

After playing in front of over 14,000 fans in its season opener against Marquette, the Centenary men's basketball team will take on Grambling State on Tuesday at 7:30 pm.

SERIES: Grambling leads 5-1 (1978-1993)
Last meeting: Grambling 106, Centenary 85 (1992-93)

GENTS LAST TIME OUT
MILWAUKEE, Wisc.-Centenary dropped its season opener 85-62 to Marquette on Friday evening. Playing in front of a powerful blue and gold crowd of 14,093 in the impressive Bradley Center of Milwaukee, the Gents (0-1) battled Big East Marquette to the end, but a late, second half surge by the Golden Eagles proved too much for Centenary.

PEREZ POURS IN 25
Sophomore David Perez poured in a career-high 25 points and three assists in the season opener at Marquette. The New Iberia, Louisiana native recorded 8-of-16 from the field, 4-of-10 from behind the line and a perfect 5-of-5 from the charity stripe. That scoring surge was his eighth career game in double figures as he had seven in his rookie season with a previous high at NSU with 19 points.

MARSEILLE SHOWS WELL IN DEBUT
Freshman Matt Marseille came off the bench to net 11 points in his first collegiate game. He played 32 of the 40 minutes and netted a free throw to give the Gents their only lead of the game in the first half at 18-18.

GUARDS GALORE
When one looks at the Centenary roster, they see six guards and six forwards listed. However, it is the backcourt that paces this young Gents squad as they started four listed guards in the season opener.

BONHAM BLOCKS INTO BOOKS
Senior forward Jerrald Bonham is six blocks away from jumping into the record books. He currently has 41 and needs 47 to break the top 10 all time. In Centenary's last game, the Plano, Texas native recorded one block and is coming off a 17-block season just last year.

SCOUTING GRAMBLING
Grambling will host the Gents in its season opener on Tuesday. The Tigers are coached by interim head coach Bobby Washington who took over the program in late September. They will roster three seniors and three freshmen. Last season, Grambling finished 6-23 and 4-14 in the SWAC. They return their two top scorers, Ariece Perkins (11.3) and Donald Qualls (10.0).

SERIES VS GRAMBLING
Grambling leads the all time series against Centenary, 5-1. The two teams last met in the 1992-93 season when the Tigers defeated the Gents in the Gold Dome, 106-85.
