FARGO, N.D.-The Centenary women's basketball team will return home after a 85-50 fall at North Dakota State on Monday evening in Summit League play.

The Ladies (1-14, 0-4) were led by junior Ashley Jackson with 14 points and senior Bethany Joseph with 11 points. Junior Anne Farrell narrowly missed a double-double, finishing with nine points and eight rebounds.

North Dakota State challenged Centenary early as it went up 13-0. It was nearly five minutes of play before Joseph would drain a three for the Ladies first basket.

The Bison held onto a commanding lead for much of the half even after Centenary went on a 5-1 run of its own near the 8-minute mark.

Another Joseph trey narrowed the score to 10 (33-23) with five minutes to play, but a 12-2 tilt by North Dakota State allowed it to close out the first half with a 42-25 lead.

Senior Michaela Berg came out hitting a three, however, North Dakota State's Katie Birkel responded with seven straight points to ignite a 10-2 run.

The surge was ended when Farrell's lay up narrowed the Bison's lead to 20 (52-32). Midway through the final 20 minutes, Centenary fell victim to a 15-4 run and a 68-37 score.

Joseph and Berg each fire off treys for a late Ladies spark to make it a 77-48 contest with 3:30 remaining. The Bison finished off the game with a 4-for-4 effort at the charity stripe.

Centenary shot 35.4 percent (17-of-48) from the floor and 43 percent (6-of-14) from deep. However, it was 23 turnovers that resulted in 32 points for North Dakota State.

The Bison finished the night at 51.7 percent (31-of-60) from the field. They were successful 8-of-17 (47.1 percent) from behind the arc.

Inger Hodgson led North Dakota State with 17 points, followed by 16 from Birkel.

Centenary was out rebounded 42-26.

The Ladies will be back in action on Saturday, Jan. 9 when they host Oakland at 5:00 pm in the Gold Dome.
