Batson and Martin Take Wins at Local DustBuster Duathlon

Shreveport, LA - At the sixth annual Dustbuster Duathlon, four Centenary students made the podium in sunny, yet below freezing, conditions. The race consisted of a 1.5 mile run, 11.75 mile bike, and a 1.5 mile run at the LSU Pecan Station south of Shreveport. The day started foggy on the race course but cleared into bright sunshine during the bike leg. Temperatures hovered in the 28-30 degree range.

Jacquelyn Batson won the Women's 20-24 age group, finishing 30th overall (4th woman overall) in a time of 1:00:50.9, and Chelsea Liles claimed second place in the same age group with a time of 1:13:50.7 and 74th overall.

Jonathan Martin grabbed up the Men's 20-24 title finishing 10th overall in a time of 55:35.7 with a below-six-minute pace on both of his runs. David Micinski took third place in the same age group with a 57:28.3 resulting in a 19th place overall.
