Ladies Cut Strokes, Finish 14th

KINDER, La.-The Centenary women's golf team wrapped up the McNeese Spring Invitational with a team score of (359, 347, 338) 1044, finishing in 14th place.

The Ladies cut 21 strokes off their first round score, but weren't able to move up in the standings after Day 1.

Centenary finished 108 strokes out of the lead behind top finisher, Lamar (320, 307, 308-935), while Sam Houston State (314-321-301, 936) and UTSA (328-312-303, 943) took second and third, respectively.

Leading the way for the Ladies was freshmen Rachel Grinnell (93-82-84, 259) and Claire Whitis (85-85-89, 259) in a tie for 64th place.

Also for Centenary was senior Jessica Marquart (88-91-86) and freshman Kyndal Rose (93-89-83, 265) in a tie for 71st, while freshman Justine Kemp (93-91-85) rounded out the Ladies in a tie for 75th.

Individually, Julie Aime (80-73-71, 224) took home first with eight shots over par for Lamar.

Centenary will return to action on March 1 when they travel to South Alabama.
