SHREVEPORT-Centenary College and Head Women's Gymnastics Coach Gretchen Goerlitz are proud to announce that Christine Langston has formally accepted the institution's offer of admission and will be joining the Ladies' squad next year.

Langston hails from Crestwood, Kentucky and South Oldham High School and is the first to commit to compete for Centenary next season. She is actively involved in her high school's Honors Program, Diplomacy Club and Tri-M Music Honor Society and is the daughter of Jim and Page Langston.

A 14-year member of Champion Gymnastics Club Team, Langston competed as an All-Around performer under Tiffany Orem. Throughout her club career, the young gymnast has performed well, earning 2009 Kentucky State Floor Champion recognition and placed third as an All-Arounder.

Also in 2009, Langston was a Region V Regional Qualifier, placing seventh on Floor and 11th as an All-Around gymnast.

In 2008, Langston was the Kentucky State Uneven Bar Champion and finished second in the All-Around competition. She also was a Region V qualifier that year and took 11th on Bars.

Over her career, Langston was recognized by her teammates three times with the "Best Teammate Award" and was a four-time Region V Qualifier.

Langston's high scores include:

All-Around (36.6), Vault (9.4), Bars (9.7), Beam (9.5), Floor (9.55)

"Christine has the heart of a Centenary Lady so we are excited to welcome her into our family. The future of the program is big and bright with the work ethic and energy these Ladies posess. I can't wait to see were the future of this family goes," said Goerlitz.
