Ladies Take 16th at USA Lady Jaguar Invitational

MOBILE, Ala.-The Centenary women's golf team the Lady Jaguar Invitational hosted by South Alabama in 16th place with a three-round score of 1071.

The Ladies (349-355-367) finished 207 strokes over par and 158 shots behind tournament leader, Memphis (309-300-304, 913) after struggling in their final two rounds.

Freshman Kyndal Rose (89-84-86) was Centenary's top performer with a 259 for 70th place. She was followed by senior teammate Jessica Marquart (89-88-85, 262) in a tie for 71st, while freshman Rachel Grinnell (87-87-95, 269) finished in 75th.

Also competing for the Ladies was newcomer Claire Whitis (87-89-95, 271) in 77th, while classmates Justine Kemp  (86-95-94, 275) and Lauren Raynes (99-97-92, 288) placed 79th and 82nd, respectively.

Behind Memphis in team placing was Florida International (301-304-314) with a 919 and rounding out the top three was Stetson (303-308-310) with a score of 921.

Memphis' Marissa Steen (75-73-74, 222) defeated Stetson's Lauren Cate (73-75-74, 222) in a playoff for first place overall.

Centenary will return to action on March 15 at the South Dakota State Invitational in Primm, Nevada.
