PREVIEW: Softball Scheduled for Busy Week

SHREVEPORT-After playing six games last week on the road, the Centenary softball team will travel to Louisiana Tech on Wednesday for a 6:00 pm contest.

The Ladies (4-6) will host Grambling on Thursday at 5:30 pm in their home opener followed by a double-header against North Texas on Friday beginning at 5:00 pm.

Centenary earned three wins last week, including a 10-1 victory over Grambling in five innings. The Ladies also recorded two wins over first-year program, Murray State in the Red & Blue Classic hosted by Ole Miss.

On the season, senior Haley Bassett leads the way offensively with a team-best .333 clip, 10 hits, 17 total bases for a .567 slugging percentage, while junior Sara Dornelas (.320) and sophomore Kalyn Harris (.304) each are batting over .300 through the first 10 games.

Dornelas is also contributing as the Ladies leading pitcher with a 3.69 ERA over 36.0 innings. She has allowed 44 hits and struck out 22 batters for a 4-4 record.
