Gymnastics Falls to MIC Rival SEMO

CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO-The Centenary gymnastics team had several highlighting moments on Friday evening, but fell to MIC rival SEMO, 194.225 to 190.350 on the road.

The Ladies were outscored by the Redhawks in all four events, but posted its strongest showing on the Beam with a team total of 48.275 led by junior Alyssa Zawieja and Jessica Lieblich with a tied score of 9.725 and a second-place finish.

Freshman Amanda Holt continued her dominance as the Ladies top vaulter, finishing in a tie for third with a score of 9.725. Junior Makensie Lant scored a 9.600 on the Bars for Centenary's best score, however fell short of the top-three.

Junior Marisa Schneider took second on the Floor exercise with a score of 9.725 for the Ladies top finisher.

Lieblich and Schneider each competed as Centenary's All-Around performers as Lieblich finished with a four-event score of 37.700 for second place, while Schneider posted a 36.900 for third. SEMO's Jordan Salsberg took first with a 38.775.

Centenary will return home and host LSU for Senior/Alumni Night in the Gold Dome on Friday, March 19 at 6:00 pm.
