Ladies Golf in 14th After Day 1

PRIMM, Nevada-After the first two rounds of the Jackrabbit Invitational hosted by South Dakota State, the Centenary women's golf team is in 14th place with a team score of 672.

The Ladies (338-334) managed to cut four strokes off their opening round, but still trail by 72 shots to current leader, Missouri State (303-296, 599).

Centenary was led on Day 1 by senior Jessica Marquart (80-80, 160) in a tie for 49th place. Freshmen Claire Whitis (82-84, 166) and Kyndal Rose (83-83, 166) are tied for 64th, while classmate Rachel Grinnell (93-87, 180) is tied for 80th. Rounding out the Ladies is freshman Justine Kemp (93-96, 189) in 90th place.

Following Missouri State in the team standings is Summit League foe, Oral Roberts (291-309) with a score of 600, while Drake (297-305) is in third, just two shots behind the Golden Eagles.

Olivia Lansing (72-70) of Drake paces the field with a -2 under, 142 after the first two rounds.

Centenary will wrap up play on Tuesday in one round.
