Sunday, March 28, 2010
SHREVEPORT-The Centenary men's golf team will host its annual Hal Sutton Intercollegiate golf tournament on Monday and Tuesday at Olde Oaks Golf Club in Haughton, La.

The tournament field consists of two teams from Centenary, McNeese State, University of North Dakota, University of South Dakota, Binghamton, and Houston Baptist.

Playing a par-72 course, teams will open with a shotgun start beginning at 8:30 am on both days. Two rounds will be played on Monday before concluding the final round on Tuesday.

According to OldeOaksGolfClub.com, "Olde Oaks is Northwest Louisiana's premier daily fee golf facility. Designed in close collaboration with PGA Ryder Cup Captain Hal Sutton, Olde Oaks graces the country side with twenty-seven beautiful holes that wind through 340 acres of hilly terrain, unlike any other place in Louisiana. Sutton's first signature course offers five sets of tees and generous fairways, designed to present a challenge to golfers of every skill level."

Last year, Centenary placed second with a team total of 914 behind a first place finish by Mark Weeber and his 217 score.

Following the tournament, the Gents will play its final non-conference contest hosted by Texas State on April 12-13.
