Gents Come Up Short Against IPFW

KANSAS CITY, Missouri-The Centenary men's tennis team had two victories in singles action, but fell short 5-2 to IPFW in Summit League action on Saturday afternoon.

Matt Shoptaugh defeated his singles opponent, 6-0, 2-6, and 6-1, while teammate Sam Grace was victorious, 6-4, 6-2.

Evan Magill fell 6-1,6-2, while John Reeks was dropped 6-3, 6-3. Jacob Dawson also fell 6-1, 6-4 and Micah Threadgill was defeated 6-4, 6-2.

IPFW took all three doubles matches as Shoptaugh/Magill fell 8-2 and Grace/Reeks lost 8-6. Threadgill/Dawson were down 7-5, but did not finish.

Centenary will wrap up the weekend cluster on Sunday with a single match against UMKC at 9:00 am.
