Ladies Golf in Ninth After Two Rounds

TULSA, Okla.-The Centenary women's golf team finished the opening two rounds of the Summit League Championship on Monday in ninth place with a team score of 687 held at the Oaks Country Club in Tulsa.

The Ladies are 62 shots out of the lead with two rounds remaining on Tuesday.

Playing a par-71 course, Centenary was led on Day 1 by freshman Justine Kemp (89-81) with a 170 and in 30th place after trimming eight strokes off her opening round score.

Classmate Claire Whitis (84-88) is in 33rd with a 172, two shots behind teammate Kemp. Senior Jessica Marquart (87-87) sits in 36th place with a 36-hole score of 174. Freshman Rachel Grinnell (86-89) is tied for 37th with a 175, while classmate Kyndal Rose (95-85) cut 10 shots off, but is still in 40th place with a score of 180.

Oral Roberts (316-309, 625) holds a 10-stroke lead over South Dakota State (314-321, 635), while Southern Utah (325-325, 650) makes up the top three after Monday's rounds.

Individually, Oral Roberts' Amber Hensley (76-77) paces the field with a 153.

The tournament will conclude on Tuesday with two rounds beginning at 8:30 am.
