Monday, April 26, 2010
SHREVEPORT-Looking to rekindle the winning ways, the Centenary softball team will host LSU-Alexandria in a double-header on Tuesday beginning at 5:00 pm.

The Ladies are 9-29 overall and 4-12 at home this season and are hoping to snap a 10-game losing skid when they face the Generals.

Centenary returns home after two league games played at UMKC where it dropped both contests before facing a rained out third game.

On the season, Sara Dornelas paces the offense with a .277 average. Senior Allison Shepperd is hitting .247 with a team-best 10 doubles, while sophomore Kalyn Harris has driven in 21 runs with a .220 average.

Dornelas is 8-20 with a 4.12 ERA to lead Centenary on the rubber, while junior Lauren Highsmith has garnered the other win, holding a 6.94 ERA.

This meeting will mark the first time these two teams have met as LSU-Alexandria competes in NAIA. The Generals are 11-32 on the season.

Following the mid-week games, Centenary will travel to South Dakota State to face the Jackrabbits in a three-game league set beginning at 3:00 pm on Friday.
