Gents Conclude Season with Solid Round

ST. GEORGE, Utah-The Centenary men's golf team rallied to shoot an impressive 298 in its final round of the Summit League Championships held at Entrada at Snow Canyon Country Club to wrap up its season in seventh place with a 921 two-day total.

The Gents fired rounds of 312, 311, and 298 on Monday and Tuesday to finish 36 shots out of first place.

Junior Greg Berthelot (76-79-70) concluded the tournament with a -2 under, 70, in his final round for a 225 total and a tie for 12th place overall.

Sophomore teammate Denver Green (78-76-74) also cut strokes off his second round to finish in a tie for 19th, three shots behind Berthelot with a 228.

Senior Nick Faitz (79-77-76) tied for 24th with a 232, while classmate Mark Weeber (79-79-81) totaled a 239 for a tie for 39th. Junior Cannon Earp (85-86-78) rounded out the Centenary scores with a 249 and a 47th standing.

Taking team honors was Oral Roberts (298-294-293) with an 885, one shot better than second-place UMKC (291-300-295, 886), while Western Illinois (293-296-298, 887) took third.

UMKC's Korbin Kuehn (69-74-73, 216) claimed the individual championship over ORU's David Holtgrewe (71-72-73, 216) by virtue of winning a one-hole playoff.
